Monard oil - General:
The monard, or wild bergamot, is a plant genus in the subfamily Nepetoideae within the Lamiaceae family. It is native to North America. In 1569, the Spanish physician Nicolás Monardes (1493-1578) described the effects of some "New World plants", including this genus.
