Lemon oil organic (yellow) With its bright yellow colour, it shines like a bright sun and stands out everywhere: spiritual stories have always been entwined around the lemon. In Greek mythology, citrus trees were considered sacred. Hermes, the messenger of the gods, is said to have created the tree to pay homage to the beauty of nature. Even today, citrus fruits are often given as gifts at business openings and anniversaries to wish good luck and convey special appreciation. Originally native to ancient China, the lemon - once also known as lime - came to Europe via Persia, the Arab countries and Greece with the Crusaders. The versatile oil is obtained by cold-pressing the peel. We associate its scent with freshness, cleanliness and hygiene, and it is no coincidence that many cleaning agents and oral care products contain essential lemon oil. But lemons can do much more: they are a powerful antioxidant. When we smell lemon, we immediately feel its mood-lifting effect, it also promotes concentration, sharpens the mind and strengthens our memory.

Ethereal power flows from the peel
The lemon peel, which at first glance appears inconspicuous, is made up of two layers: the inner, white albedo and the outer, yellow flavedo. The outer layer contains the numerous oil glands that contain the precious essential lemon oil. At Tiroler Kräuterhof, the peels are carefully pressed to produce 100% natural oil. With this product in particular, you should make sure that it is of outstanding organic quality and not use synthetic products, which can have completely different effects on the body and mind.

In the kitchen:
1.Extend shelf life: Fresh fruit lasts longer if you briefly pour lemon water over it.
2.Cleaning and cleaning products: The often difficult-to-clean chopping boards on which you cut up all kinds of vegetables, fruit and meat can be cleaned wonderfully with citrus oil. It's also an easy way to combat any lingering odours.
3.Seasoning: Lemon oil can also be used for baking and to flavour fruit salads and other dishes. Just a few drops are enough to add the finishing touch to your culinary delights. Caution: Do not drizzle pure on dishes, but rather add to sauces, desserts and baked goods!
Repels insects: This also works very well with aroma lamps or our aroma nebuliser, as insects do not like the citrus scent.
