Vita Verde Classic organic olives from the Amfissa growing region in Greece are ripe and full-flavoured.
The natural drying process on the tree makes the olives wrinkly. They gain flavour through the drying process. This process makes it possible to produce the fruit completely natural and thus preserve the natural biomolecular structure. In Greece, this type of 'shrivelled' olives is called Throumba olives.
Due to this natural drying and ripening process, we only harvest in December and January. It is important for us to harvest the olives by hand as gently as possible so that they are not damaged. We also minimise our impact on the habitat of other species. Apart from a little salt, we do not use any preservatives. We do not use any heat treatment, i.e. pasteurisation. We therefore pack the olives by hand and vacuum-sealed.
Finest dried organic olives in raw food quality
The Vita Verde Organic Mediterranean Olives are flavoured with the herbs oregano and basil that are typical of the region. Of course, these all come from certified organic cultivation. Vita Verde dried Mediterranean olives taste great on their own as a snack, but are also an excellent accompaniment to fish, potato and pasta dishes. They can also be used to make a wonderful tapenade. Season and refine your tapenade to your personal taste. Finish it off with a little olive oil or and you have a delicious, healthy spread.
